Emergency Update: Severe flooding at the FRP Sage Center
Recently, a burst pipe from the building attached to our facility caused severe flooding throughout the terrace level of the Sage Center. The volume of water resulted in extensive damage to residential units, program spaces, and staff offices. Staff has been relocated within the building to continue providing services for our families.
The Impact:
Damaged areas include:
- Residential units, displacing two families with the loss of household essentials, toiletries,
- and clothes that will require immediate support to replace.
- The Learning Center had structural damage, a file room, office equipment, and furniture.
- The Community Room, which houses a children’s play area, a full kitchen with appliances,
- and a full hair salon for client use with furniture and supplies.
- Laundry facilities with washers and dryers.
- Staff offices with printers, file cabinets and office furniture essential to daily operations.

Staff Holiday Party Celebrates Team and Milestones
Our staff holiday party was a wonderful success, made possible through the thoughtful planning and coordination of our Executive Assistant, Avery Lawrence. From festive, holiday-themed games to a lively White Elephant gift exchange, the event created a welcoming space for our team to relax, connect, and celebrate together.
The gathering also provided a meaningful opportunity to recognize and honor the retirement of our longtime SAGE Facilities Manager, James Gorham. James’s years of dedication, commitment, and care have left a lasting impact on our community. His contributions will not be forgotten, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.

SAGE Center Hosts Holiday Celebration for Families
The SAGE Center was filled with holiday cheer as families came together to celebrate the season with laughter, games, and delicious food. The event created a joyful and welcoming space for connection, reflection, and shared celebration.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Tijuana Jones, Housing Case Manager, for generously providing food for all to enjoy, and to Dr. Gainers and her Delta Sorority sisters for their extraordinary generosity. From thoughtful gifts to luxury items, including designer coats and jewelry, their contributions helped make this holiday season truly memorable for the families we serve.
Thank you to everyone who played a role in making this celebration so special. Your kindness and support continue to strengthen our community and bring joy to our families.

ZERO TO THREE visit to Sage
On Friday, October 10th, we had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Darniesha Allen, a representative from Safe Babies, a program of ZERO TO THREE. During her visit, Dr. Jocelyn Gainers, Tracie Wyman, and Sybil Imani showed her around both of our buildings, where she had the opportunity to meet and speak with families at Sage and staff at FRP Courtside.
ZERO TO THREE, founded in 1977, is a U.S.-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting the healthy development of infants and toddlers from birth to age three. We’re grateful to Ms. Allen for sharing her inspiration and insight, and we look forward to continuing our connection and collaboration in the future!

FRP Team Enjoys an Unforgettable Evening at the Orioles Game
The Family Recovery Program staff recently came together for a fantastic night of team bonding and fun at Camden Yards. The evening was filled with laughter, cheering, and shared excitement, highlighted by one of our very own catching a foul ball. Moments like these not only create lasting memories but also strengthen the strong sense of connection and community that defines our FRP family. FRP Team Enhances Skills Through Trauma-Informed Care Training
Our Family Recovery Program team recently had the honor of participating in a transformative Trauma-Informed Care session led by the incredible Dr. Venus. This in-depth training allowed us to deepen our understanding of the profound impact trauma can have on the families we serve. Through compassionate and practical guidance, we learned effective strategies to better support healing, resilience, and long-term recovery.
This enriching experience has equipped our team with valuable tools and insights that will strengthen our ability to provide empathetic, trauma-sensitive care. We are grateful for the inspiration and knowledge gained and remain committed to fostering hope and wellness within our community.
